Entry of the Day - Hockering Wood
1. Hockering Wood
A 90 hectare block of ancient woodland, predominantly lime and oak, situated between East Dereham and Norwich in Norfolk. Hockering Wood is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is managed by J Cheetham Forestry. During WW2 it was used by the RAF for bomb storage.

Footage was shot here in June 1990 for use in Series 4 of Knightmare, which featured such outdoor locations as the Forest of Dun and Dunkley Wood.

The wood is privately owned and is sometimes closed to the public, so check before planning a visit.
